Learn all about matcha from tree to cup at Marukyu Koyamaen! For tea lovers, we promise a once in a lifetime experience.
Go behind the scenes of our Makashima Factory in Uji and experience the patented processing techniques that are at the heart of our award-winning, high quality teas. This experiential tour will not only teach visitors the important elements of producing excellent tea, visitors will actually see the equipment and experience the patented processes involved in processing matcha.
As a part of the experience, will view the interior charm of a traditional Japanese tea hut then enjoying make their very own bowl of matcha and have it with a traditional Japanese sweet.
Last but not least, visitors can peruse our on-site Marukyu Koyamaen store, stocked with a wide selection of teas such as matcha, sencha and hojicha, as well as matcha confectionary, sweets and other items that make fantastic gifts and souvenirs.

Availability
We suspend our Matcha Factory Tour from Monday, 30th of December 2024, to Monday, 13th of January 2025, due to high season and the New Year's holiday.
We will be processing your reservation by email by 10 AM (Japan time), the 28th of December 2024. Reservation and Inquiry received after that time will be answered in order after 6th of January 2025. Thank you for your attention.
[Low stock on Matcha]
Due to a sharp and continued increase in demand on Matcha products in the past months, the current demand has already over our production capacity. This results in an extreme low stock of all Matcha products at this moment.
Therefore, please note that there is a purchase limit on Matcha at our Makishima Factory Shop. For more, please refer to:here

※ A Chanoyu (tea ceremony) experience is NOT included in the tour.
※ Matcha Factory Tour is only available on weekdays. Unavailable during weekends, public holidays, and peak seasons (early January, late-April to mid-May, mid-July to mid-August, and December).
※ Please note that the Makishima Factory is not a barrier-free facility that there are no elevators inside the building. Participants will need to walk up and down stairs during the factory tour.
